Welcome to the third newsletter of URBANREC
Discover the latest developments of the URBANREC project!
- URBANREC project held its latest meeting on the 14 and 15 November 2017 in Espinho, Portugal. During the meeting the last advances of the project were presented and the facilities of partner Eurospuma were visited.
- At this point in time the consortium has achieved the separation of the different materials coming from bulky waste (Wood and foam particles, jute fibres, polyamide fibres, etc.). These are being used in the development of the new valorisation routes to obtain new products (polyols, Wood Plastic Composites-WPC, etc.).
- At the same time, several activities are being performed by the public bodies and civic amenity sites in the consortium, with the aim of assessing an efficient management of this bulky waste and establishing citizen awareness campaigns, as well as setting the bases to act on standards and legislation.
- During the next year the valorisation routes will be completed and educational programmes will be established in Bornova (Turkey), Flanders (Belgium) y Warsaw (Poland); similarly to what has already been started in Valencia (Spain), in eight different municipalities carried out by the public body of that area involved in the Project, Diputación de Valencia.
