A step closer to operation for the pilot plant for obtaining high-value added products from bulky waste

The project partner BPP is progressing with the setting up of a pilot plant demonstrating the applicability of Catalytic Hydro-Gasification with Plasma (CHGP) technology for bulky waste management. The pilot plant will be used to convert URBANREC´s bulky waste into a high added value product (methylal). The plant is composed of two units and the gasification unit has already been delivered to BPP’s warehouse, located in Villa Real, Castellón, Spain. BPP is finishing electro-mechanical connections to start running the gasification planned tests.

The bulky waste which will be treated in the plant based on CHGP technology are mainly composed of materials coming from bulky waste that are not profitables for valorization routes (PUR foam and textile mixtures, fine hard plastic and wood, bitumen from carpets, latex…).
