Partnership with Evonik for PU additives

Partnership with Evonik for PU additivesGerman distributor Biesterfeld Spezialchemie (Hamburg; www.biesterfeld-spezialchemie.com) has enhanced its PU offering following a partnership with Evonik Nutrition & Care?s (Essen / Germany; www.evonik.com) Comfort & Insulation business. Under the deal, Biesterfeld will distribute Evonik?s PU additives throughout Austria, Switzerland, Russia and Eastern Europe. Evonik?s product range includes ?Tegostab? silicone stabilisers, ?Dabco?, ?Polycat?, ?Tegoamin? and ?Kosmos? catalysts, ?Tegocolor? colour paste, along with ?Ortegol? and ?Versalink? high-performance additives.

Henning Hermann, PU market manager at Biesterfeld Spezialchemie, said that the partnership continues a collaboration with the Performance Materials division of Air Products and Chemicals (Allentown, Pennsylvania / USA; www.airproducts.com), which Evonik acquired in January 2017 ? see Plasteurope.com of 10.05.2016.

?With our enhanced cooperation, we are massively improving our additive portfolio with Evonik as the market leader in the PU industry. This step perfectly matches Biesterfeld?s strategic position, defined by application-specific consulting and enhancing the business within the contact of CASE [coatings, adhesives, sealants and elastomer] applications,? he said.

PU additives are used in a variety of applications, including upholstery, mattress and pillow production in the furniture industry, insulation in the construction sector as well as in the automotive industry where they can improve seating comfort and reduce noise and vibration levels.08.03.2018 Plasteurope.com [239200-0]
