KraussMaffei Berstorff coextrusion combination for profile production

Schüco Polymer Technologies KG, a leading German manufacturer of PVC window profile systems, will be commissioning a twin-strand coextrusion combination at the Weißenfels plant early this year.In this project, an existing KMD 114-32/P twin-screw extruder of KraussMaffei Berstorff has been integrated into a new coex combination, which is also equipped with two KMD 63 K/P conical machines. The main extruder prepares the material with a high proportion of recycled or filler content for the inner layer. The two coextruders (executed as a piggyback model) deliver the outer layer in the twin strand with performance of up to 200 kg/h per strand. The coextrusion combination is controlled by a state-of-the-art C6 control and features a total output of 700 ? 800 kg/h/.
